The Joseph D. Grant Ranch House

Joseph D. Grant County Park

This double award is given for the extraordinary ghosts that make themselves known on a regular basis at this great house!!

The Joseph D. Grant Ranch House and County Park are nestled in the East San Jose Foothills.  With the sordid history and past, the park is open on a regular basis for camping, fishing and hiking.  In the winter it gets cool and in the summer it gets hot, but either way, you walk into the Grant house and you know you are not alone!

This house is a beautifully renovated masterpiece of architecture sitting among acre upon acre of land.  Who would have thought that this land rich from the sun would have an abundance of ghosts??  That's what we discovered when we investigated this house again on October 8th and 9th.

We were asked by the Park Service that cares for this beautiful house to take the public on tours through the house giving our renditions of ghost stories and hearing history from the park's historian.  What we didn't know was that the ghosts would make themselves known.

Ron, the park's historian would lecture to the group at various points throughout the house.  We would point out the haunted places we had encountered when we were allowed to investigate in 2002 with a Mercury News newspaper reporter and cameraperson.   At that time we discovered some very interesting hauntings that were occurring in the house although the park historian wasn't understanding all the excitement, he was willing to allow us to be happy over what we had discovered.

So the lectures we on through the house and the guests that went through the house on the tours were also experiencing their feelings, impressions, cold spots and pictures they were taking of possible orbs.  On the picture to the right, Ghost Trackers member Steve was attempting to make contact with the energy that was felt on and around the stairwell the two nights we held the tours.

Even the park rangers were getting feelings and impressions. Although they feel these impressions regularly, they listened as we explained what we believed to be their cause with great interest.  They were surprised to learn that these things were not the norm when entering the house.

At approximately the time that this ranger was stating that he was feeling a presence in the foyer of the house, we had moved back toward the wall and away from the front door to where the mirrored bench was positioned.  Below are two snapshots that were taken in sequence.

The picture on the left shows that something may be forming.  The picture on the right taken right afterward from a different angle shows what appears to be two faces to the right of Steve (shown in the mirror).  It shows the faces of two people, possibly a man on the left and a woman on the right.  It is blown up below.

Here is the picture with just the images blown up.  In this piece you see Scott's fingers looking at his digital camera while Steve's reflection is in the mirror.  The two images are seen.  What looks like a man on the left and possibly a woman on the right.  It even seems as though she is pointing at Steve.

There was also EVP obtained which you can find on our EVP page.  This is a remarkable house that we have been grateful to have the opportunity to enter again.  You will find that the ghosts are attempting to communicate if you only listen.  No one does enough of that.

Our biggest thanks to Park Ranger Lisa, Ron, the Historian and the other Park Rangers that do their best to protect and renovate the house and the property for allowing us to again enter the house and perform our investigations.
