JUST THE FAQ's:
In order to help you with any questions we've received via emails, here are our responses:
1. Does the price you charge cover all the conference costs or is it a per-day cost?
The price we charge for our conferences covers all costs that include the guest speakers, workshops, venues such as where we hold the conference and the bonus attractions and the catered lunches and welcome reception foods and drinks.
The price does not cover any transportation or hotel costs. We do try to negotiate with the hotel used or ones nearby to get a discounted rate for our conference goers. Being in the hotel gives our conference goers the opportunity to sit with our guest speakers, join other ghost hunters and trade ideas, learn new techniques, etc. It is also more of a convenience when we are staying out late at a bonus attraction venue and can all go to the hotel to sleep in a bit.
2. How do I get the special hotel discounted rate?
DON'T RESERVE ONLINE, CALL!!! When reserving your hotel room, tell the clerk that you want the SPECIAL RATE FOR THE GHOST CONFERENCE. Make sure they know that. While you may be able to reserve your room online, calling into the hotel reservation line will get you into our block of reserved rooms.
3. LOL!!! Yes, you have seen our director, Gloria Young, on TV. Most recently you may have seen her on the Ghost Adventures' episode of "Preston Castle". She has also been on other various TV segments and many episodes of "Dead Famous" with Chris Fleming.
4. What kinds of hauntings have gone on in those mansions?
The Meek Mansion is currently under renovation and EVP has been captured in this magnificent building. The extraordinary McConaghy Mansion has had many deaths inside this building and has an unusual past but EVP has also been captured here. The San Lorenzo cemetery has MANY dead buried there from a flu epidemic as well as five members of a family (we believe all children) killed from a train that sits directly behind the cemetery. This excellent pioneer cemetery is also under renovation from the city which lends credence to the possibility it may be haunted. We are unsure exactly what paranormal activity is occurring inside because it has barely been investigated before. Our conference registrants will be some of the first to actually investigate there.
5. What kind of information will we be receiving from the guest speakers?
Mr. Oliver has autonomy regarding his lecture, however, we have heard from many, many people that he gives an excellent lecture. Ms. Young has almost 20 years of experience and has many "secrets" on how best to investigate and, among other things is going to open up and tell what the best way is to start a group, how to handle your group, how to possibly make money with your group, what kind of equipment is best to use, how to use that equipment, where the places are to get that equipment, what the best resources are to use for your investigations and much, much more. While she is a regular lecturer, she learns every new technique, tests new experiments, reads and listens to others to learn more. She is bringing all this information to this conference, something she has never done before. Dr. Heath has written numerous books on science and the paranormal and is one of the foremost authorities on various subjects regarding the paranormal. She will be speaking from information she used to write her new book. Specifically, how ghosts become stuck here on earth and how to help them.
6. Will you be offering the "quarter game" like before?
LOL!! Yes. We have had numerous requests for our quarter game. If you haven't been a part of our conferences before and you do this time, you will definitely learn about the quarter game and be hooked on our conferences just as many others have.
7. Will there be people to help us if we need it?
Yes. We will have people at the hotel, at each venue everywhere we go. If they don't know the answer, they will ask, but you should be able to get around comfortably without issue. Thanks to the cooperation of R.E.A.L. Paranormal Research Group of Reno, Nevada, we will have additional people to help us this year. We are grateful that this group has agreed to help us.
8. Can I purchase a ticket to just the investigations? Can I purchase a ticket to just the lectures?
Unfortunately, no. We only offer the whole conference in one price mainly due to its' time. Because the conference is held in a day and a half, we cannot effectively separate prices and venues. Trying that in the past did not work, was confusing for both attendee and us.
9. I see that you have a registration limitation. So that means once you are full, you're full?
Yes. We do not allow just any number to register. We place a limit on our registrations. The reason for this is that we want to keep the registration amount to a number we can handle and our speakers and venues can handle. We want everyone to have a good experience and try not to "herd" people through our venues as some conferences do. We want to keep it as personal and satisfying as we can.
10. I need a roommate for the conference. Can you help with that?
We are beginning to develop a list of people who are looking for roommates in the hotel. While we cannot guarantee a roommate nor that the person you get will be completely compatible with you, if we find someone who also needs a roommate, we will get permission to exchange emails and hope that you both will be able to make a "room match".
11. I am going to need a ride to the investigations. Who is going to give me a ride?
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide transportation for our attendees. Getting from venue-to-venue is the responsibility of our attendees. While we can try to help you find transportation and "hitch a ride" with someone else, we cannot provide any transportation because all our members and the members of R.E.A.L. Paranormal Research Group as well as others we've asked for assistance will be providing directions, traffic control and "bouncer" duties at the hotel and venues as they progress throughout the evenings.
12. I am not going to be able to make the conference as I thought. Can I get a refund?
We will be able to return payments in the form of refunds only up to May 1, 2010. From that point on, we will need to complete the payments to the venues, hotel, caterer and other people we have reserved and/or begun payment for as a result of this conference. We will be unable to provide refunds past that point. We would ask everyone to be certain of your commitment to being at the conference when clicking our payment link beginning May 1, 2010.
13. I live nearby and was wondering what the itinerary was so that I can plan accordingly.
We had been waiting to put the itinerary online to make certain that everything is going to be as we had planned. We are disappointed as well, when we make arrangements for everyone and, for whatever reason, something has to change. This year we decided to hold off but since there are so many of you wanting to know what the itinerary is, we will post it and keep our fingers crossed.
Again, we will emphasize that even if you live nearby, obtaining a hotel room (we have a few names for people wanting roommates) is your best bet because it allows you to stay out late, be safe, make arrangements with others to join them for breakfast and continue that discussion you had, etc.
